DNA...Family Part 2
Sunday, 05 February 2012
Speaker Name:
Ryan Sharp | Matthew 12:46-50
Series:
DNA
Description:
Today in Part 2 of the Family in the DNA series Pastor Ryan shares about the "Personal Experience" and the "American Experience" of what family may mean to you. Then Pastor Ryan will explore the Biblical Experience of family, of how the spiritual family is the most important family in life. The challenge today comes in the discussion on the "American Experience" of the family unit. How as American's we have set ourselves up to fail with our perception of what a family is. The American family unit is solely based upon the embracing of radical individualism. The thought process of do whatever makes you feel good, do not worry how it will effect anyone else in the family. We come to church with that same mindset, almost like coming to a restaurant demanding our needs. This message is a challenging one as we journey through the word of God to see just what God's plan for the family unit is and how we might bring that plan back into our lives today. We are not called to come to the church we are called to BE the church.
DNA the series: The Family
Sunday, 29 January 2012
Speaker Name:
Monty Sharp | Various
Series:
DNA
Description:
As we continue our series: DNA, we step this week into the DNA of a Family. The question today is: In the long run is it better to focus on changing someone's behavior towards Christ OR changing their heart and mind towards Christ? Amazingly we focus on the behavior instead of the heart and mind. Changing the heart and mind will lead to a relationship which is the core to any family unit, including the family unit in the church. Then when we talk about relationships they have to be balanced with truth. Today Monty Sharp will share three keys to having a strong and powerful family unit; encouragement, edification and affirmation. Are you ready to learn more about a healthy family?
DNA - Identity of Generations
Sunday, 22 January 2012
Speaker Name:
Ryan Sharp | Luke 15:25-32
Series:
DNA
Description:
Today's powerful and challenging message asks the question "Are you so focused on the right steps that you miss the relationship?" Did you know you can be close to God yet still have no relationship with Him? The story of the Prodigal Son has two stories, last week we saw the return of the lost son to the Father. This week Pastor Ryan explores the eldest son who stayed and worked hard for the Father. What is behind this message that Jesus was trying to share with us? In this message we are challenged to dig deep and ask the question "Why" do we do what we do? Is it for self-gratification or glory to God. What happens when things do not go your way, do you react or respond? Are you constantly grumbling, complaining or finding you have to be in control of everything, even things we have no business involved in? It is not about removing yourself from serving it is about removing the chip on your shoulder and seeking to glorify Jesus! All challenging questions for us this week, yet there is peace and celebration when we address these areas in our lives.
DNA-The Series: What is the Gospel
Sunday, 15 January 2012
Speaker Name:
Ryan Sharp | Luke 15:1-3, 11-24
Series:
DNA
Description:
Today Pastor Ryan shares what the Gospel IS, some think the Gospel is something different to each person which is the furthest from the truth. We will also explore sin, how it is so appealing to us. Cause if sin looked like it's end result would you still jump into it? Probably not. The story of the Prodigal son is the perfect example of someone engaging into the sins of this world then finding them self suffering the consequences of their choices, yet once returning to The Father they find repentance and love. You may be in this place of needing to get out of the mud, do not run turn and get out of the mud. We can relate sin to a weed, you can pluck off the top yet it always resurfaces again and again until it is plucked out by its roots. This is a place of restoration and healing, are you ready to be restored and healed? Listen in today for a powerful message that will empower your choices.
DNA - God's Blueprint or Building Blocks for Generations Church
Sunday, 08 January 2012
Speaker Name:
Ryan Sharp | Luke 10:38-42
Series:
DNA
Description:
Today Pastor Ryan Sharp begins a new series on our DNA as a body of believers. Somewhere in life the question of "What do you want to be?" has changed to "What do you do for a living?" In this series Pastor Ryan is taking us back to the question of "What do you want to be for Christ?", "What has HE called you to be/do?" The challenge in this message comes in the question "Do you care more about WHAT people DO, instead of WHO people ARE"? We have forgotten to ask the Father in heaven what HIS plans might be for us, in many cases we tell God "This is what I am going to do!" Pastor Ryan will be covering three areas today in the message; Strategy VS Spirit, Programs VS People and Motion VS Mission. Have you been distracted with the stuff, the celebrations the doing and forgotten the mission? Today's message will be a powerful reminder to get back to the Gospel, Family, Mission and Truth!

Letting Go
Sunday, 11 December 2011
Speaker Name:
Ryan Krause | Hebrews 11:23-29
Series:
By Faith
Description:
Pastor Ryan Krause shares the fifth installment in our series "By Faith" by exploring the faith of Israel's greatest leader, Moses. As Pastor Ryan explains, there are three aspects to faith found in the story of Moses that can help us stand stronger in our own faith. Understanding that true faith often involves "letting go." Letting go requires courage. Letting go often results in consequences. Lastly, letting go is ultimately what God uses to catapult us into the future He has for us. Has God asked you to let something go recently and you refused; holding on tight to your dime store prize. Letting go of the dime store treasure enables God to reveal the true treasure He has for each of us. What do you need to let go of today? What do you need to cut the rope on today? A relationship, a habit, or something else. It does not matter what the something is, it only matters that you step out and trust God as you release it to Him!
