What is Faith?

Sunday, 13 November 2011

Speaker Name:  Ryan Krause   |  Hebrews 11:4-6
Series:  By Faith
Description:
Did you know that having faith is a command from God and not just a suggestion? Many ask “how can I trust something or have faith in something I cannot see?" We are excercising faith every time we drive our cars, sit in a chair, and many other daily tasks we do without blinking an eye. We cannot see the wind yet we see the evidence of the winds effects. It is no different with God, we do not see Him, but we see the evidence in our lives. The amazing part about faith is that the well of living water will never run dry! During challenging times, faith in what God has said to us will help bring us through! Listen in today as Pastor Ryan brings us 3 keys that will help you walk in faith.

The Substance of Things Hoped For

Sunday, 06 November 2011

Speaker Name:  Ryan Sharp   |  Hebrews 11:1-3
Series:  By Faith
Description:
Today Pastor Ryan Sharp explores what it really means to have faith in God. He touches on two areas of scripture today: the first in John 11:5-6, where he explores the use of the little word "so." In this passage Jesus is told that Lazarus is dying and yet he tarries for two days. Many would ask, "why"? If Jesus loved Lazarus so much, why did He not drop everything and go to him? We will find the answer in verse 40. God has our life under control, our life is in His hands! Do you trust God? In Hebrews 11, we begin to see what faith is, the substance of what we hope for, the evidence of things not seen. By trusting a certain God in uncertain times we will be amazed at the things God does in our lives. Nothing is safe about being in the center of God’s will...but paradoxically, there is nothing more miraculous than being in the center of God’s will!

Misconceptions of the Church

Sunday, 30 October 2011

Speaker Name:  Ryan Krause   |  1 Corinthians 3:9-15
Series:  Misconceptions of the Church
Description:
Today Pastor Ryan Krause shares with us a message about the "Church." When someone mentions the word church to you what comes to mind? The building? The people? Perhaps good memories or some not so good memories? Some feel they don't need to be in church to be a Christian. It is crucial that each of us as believers are plugged into some kind of fellowship, surrounded by like-minded people who can encourage, guide, and in some cases, correct us. Think of your walk with Christ as an ember in the fire. While you are part of the fire you glow and create heat. Once you are pulled out and set aside, your fire smolders out. A great example of the church is seen in Ephesians 2:19 where we see the Chief Cornerstone (Jesus), the brick & mortar (the people, the living stones) being the true definition of the church.

Do You Hear The Train Whistle?

Sunday, 23 October 2011

Speaker Name:  Ryan Sharp   |  Acts 1:4-8
Series:  The Life of Peter
Description:
Today Pastor Ryan Sharp brings us part 4 of his series on the restoration of Peter. Peter is someone we can all relate to in one way or another. In our journey through Acts 1:4-8, we see Peter on fire and filled with the Holy Spirit. God brings a broken life back together and the Holy Spirit fills what God has restored. We receive the ability from the Holy Spirit to do what He has called us to do. The choice is ours! Not tapping into the power of the Holy Spirit, to use a completely inadequate analogy, is like having an iphone with all its amazing capabilities but only using it as a phone. If your life is powerless then ask God to fill you with the power of the Holy Spirit!

God’s Story: A Story of Redemption

Sunday, 16 October 2011

Speaker Name:  Ryan Sharp   |  John 21:15-19
Series:  God’s Story: A Story of Redemption
Description:
Today, part two in a discussion of the life of Peter and how his life closely relates to our own lives. We see in the life of Peter a story of redemption and eventually, a man who could not get to Jesus fast enough! There is a wonderful reflection of brokenness in his life begging the question: does your own life reflect brokenness? When we talk about brokenness we do not mean crumbled or destroyed, rather, it is a brokenness reflecting the NEED for a Savior in our lives. When we try to convincing everyone that we are just fine, we inadvertantly make the statement that we do not need a Savior. Are you taking the time to “get real” with Jesus, and allowing Him to meet you where you are today? Are you ready to allow Jesus to give you grace? Know this, our feelings & emotions will come and go, but the love of Jesus remains.

The Importance of Words

Sunday, 02 October 2011

Speaker Name:  Ryan Sharp   |  Matthew 16
Series:  The Importance of Words
Description:
Today Pastor Ryan Sharp shares a message that brings to light a very powerful question for all believers. Who do you say Jesus is and who does he say you are? Do you know how to answer this or possibly you know the answer just not what it means. These were great questions that Jesus asked his disciples and they can also be very powerful in our walks as we consider our responses. Two things to consider as we explore Matthew 16: The enemy does not finish sentences: you are a sinner…but And no matter how we feel about ourselves we can thank God that it is not about us!

Recognizing Gods Voice

Sunday, 25 September 2011

Speaker Name:  Danny Scott   |  Acts 9:1
Series:  Recognizing Gods Voice
Description:
Today’s message explores the transformation of Saul to our beloved Paul. Paul was an example of a man of God that listened and responded when the Lord spoke. Paul recognized the voice of the Lord and obeyed. Such a powerful lesson for us today as we explore what voices we recognize and listen to. Do you recognize the voice of the Lord? Do you listen to the voice of the Lord? God has a specific plan for each of our lives however in order to know what that might be we have to be willing to listen and hear the voice of the Lord. We need to be fully available to do the will of the Lord. What leads you today in your life…money, pride, emotion, power, the law? This is a tough question to get honest with yourself and answer, however we need to know so we can determine what in our lives needs to be refined and changed. God wants us to know that he is running our life not us, are you ready to engage?

Relentless

Sunday, 18 September 2011

Speaker Name:  Ryan Krause   |  Job 1:6-10
Series:  Relentless
Description:
“Relentless in the Pursuit of God” Are you relentless in your relationship with Jesus? What happens when you are thrown a curve ball? Are you easily detoured by what the enemy throws your way? A few things we need to consider as we encounter trials and tribulations: 1) God only gives you what He can trust you with. 2) True character is forged during our trials and tribulations. Are you ready to stand on the foundation of Christ and be undeterred by what the enemy throws at you? The secret is this: Satan can only do what God allows him to do. Rejoice in this! Satan is an unrelenting foe; God is an unrelenting God; and therefore we, must be unrelenting in our pursuit of Him!
