You know this is one of the most heated and avoided topics of today. With the battle so pronounced for equal rights for sexual orientation how should we respond, it is genetic? Is it to be ignored? Does the Bible even take a stand on this topic? We will see today that many do not take the word of God as it is written on hot social issues, they try to soften it or even avoid the discussion all together. There are over 20 verses in the old and new testaments that specifically address the topic of homosexuality, so there is a biblical stand. We need to talk God’s word literally. Today we as Christians will learn that we need to change our hearts in order to reach people, not to judge them. We just need to do a better job in reaching out. Abortion & the Sanctity of Life    Sunday, 07 August 2011 Speaker Name:  Ryan Krause   |  Psalm 139: 13-16 Series:  Life's Hardest Questions Description:  Today’s message is a challenging and controversial topic to most people, and yet a call to action for believers to respond with compassion and the love of Christ towards those affected by Abortion. The Constitution declares that our Creator has given us certain "unalienable rights" like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Unalienable means rights that can never be taken from us. The first one listed is the most precious to God, that is the right to life. In the world today there is an epidemic that is claiming the lives of innocent little ones that never get a chance to speak up: Abortion. The world looks to abortion as the new "birth control,” a way of picking our child’s sex and intelligence, and to screem out any disabilities; perhaps a way to find the perfect child. There is certainly the freedom to choose, however, often our choices have devastating consequences to us and others around us. Today Pastor Ryan makes a call to all believers to stop judging those who have made that choice of abortion. Rather, we are to reach out with love and embrace those who will carry the weight of this decision throughout their lives. As a church we need to do a better job responding to this epic problem. We need to speak the truth in love. Sometimes we forget that poor choices are made in desperation, and with some hasty and poorly placed words we can further damage an already fragile and deeply hurtful situation.
