Starting January 31st, 2010
Are you struggling with Be-setting sin
and in need of.........?
Christian companionship to grow and become strong?
Supportive, respectful, and confidential sharing?
A place to learn, and to grow spiritually?
Finding a turning point in your life?
A safe haven of refuge, and caring?
Then Celebrate Recovery® is a place for you.
Celebrate Recovery® at Generations Church launched its new program following a 31-day fast in January of 2010. We meet at 6PM in the main church sanctuary for worship and then 7PM for our groups.
Many Christians today struggle with besetting sins and remain under the control of the world and all its vices and entrapments. Celebrate Recovery® is a recovery ministry based on biblical principles with a goal to let God work through us in providing His healing power through a Christ-centered 12 Step program. This experience allows people to be "changed" spiritually by working through sound biblical principles. Participants open the door by sharing their experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, they become willing to accept God's grace and forgiveness in solving life's problems. Celebrate Recovery® provides a safe place for indivi duals to begin their journey of breaking out from their bondage and into God's grace (II Corinthians 12:9), by helping them to start dealing with their life's hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
Worship is a major strength and difference between a Christ-centered and a secular recovery program. Worship provides a time for everyone to put aside the busyness and hassles of the world and get in touch with the true Higher Power, Jesus Christ. It allows time for the power of the Holy Spirit to fill all those who attend with a peace and a safety that only He can provide. The main focus of every fellowship event is to help members develop healthy relationships that will grow into a support team of sponsors and accountability partners. Celebrate Recovery®is based on God's Word, the Bible. When Jesus taught the Sermon on the Mount, He began by stating eight ways to be happy. Today we call them the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10) These 8 Principles are God's road to recovery, wholeness, growth, and spiritual Christ-like maturity. Celebrate Recovery® utilizes the biblical truth that we need each other in order to grow spiritually and emotionally. It is built around small group interaction and the fellowship of a caring community that is built on the New Testament principle that we don't get well by ourselves. We need each other. Fellowship and accountability are two important components of spiritual growth.
Celebrate Recovery® emphasizes personal responsibility. Instead of playing the "accuse and excuse" game of victimization, this program helps people face up to their own poor choices and deal with what they can do something about. Rather than wallowing in the past or dredging up and rehearsing painful memories over and over, Celebrate Recovery® focuses on the future regardless of what has already happened, the solution is to start making wise choices now and depend on Christ's power to help make those changes. We cannot control all that happens to us, but we can control how we respond to everything. That is a secret of happiness. When we stop wasting time fixing the blame, we have more energy to fix the problem. When we stop hiding our own faults a nd stop hurling accusations at others, then the healing power of Christ can begin working in our mind, will, and emotions.
Celebrate Recovery® emphasizes spiritual commitment to Jesus Christ. It calls for people to make a total surrender of their lives to Christ. Lasting recovery cannot happen without this step. Everybody needs Jesus. Celebrate Recovery® addresses all types of habits, hurts, and hang-ups. Some recovery programs deal only with alcohol or drugs or another single problem. But Celebrate Recovery® is a "large umbrella" program under which a limitless number of issues can be dealt with.
Our churches and communities are filled with people who are struggling with pain, shame and addictions.
Our society is becoming more and more complex. Kids now have three sets of grandparents. Sexual addiction for men and women is growing at an exponential rate. Divorce is at an all time high for Christians.
This is our reality.
Eight Recovery Principles based on the BEATITUDES
1. Realize I'm not God; I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and my life is unmanageable.
"Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor." Matthew 5:3
2. Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.
"Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
3. Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control.
"Happy are the meek." Matthew 5:5
4. Openly examine and confess my faults to God, to myself and to another person whom I trust.
"Happy are the pure in heart." Matthew 5:8
5. Voluntarily submit to any and all changes God wants to make in my life.
"Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires." Matthew 5:6
6. Evaluate all my relationships, offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, except when doing so would harm them or others.
"Happy are the merciful" Matthew 5:7 "Happy are the peacemakers" Matthew 5:9
7. Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His work for my life and gain the power to follow His will.
8. Yield myself to be used by God to bring this good news to others, both by my example and by my words.
"Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires." Matthew 5:10 |

Jack and Tonya Bigpond
Jack and Tonya were married in 1984 in
San Dimas,
California and just celebrated their 25th Anniversary on Valentines Day. They have 2 beautiful grown daughters;
Jennifer and
Shawna. Since being baptized together in 1991, they have served in Men’s, Women’s, and Marriage Ministries. Their hearts are moved towards helping Marriages.
“Our marriage has not always been Cinderella and Prince Charming, but we have found our strength comes from our indiv
idual relationships with Christ, our Savior. He is the rock we lean on, and the hope we look to. Our hearts go out to couples who are hurting in their marriages. We know first hand how the enemy will try to destroy the perfect unity that is sanctioned by God. We were once told that if we humble ourselves before God and give him our marriage, we would have a better relationship today than we d
id when we first were married. We attest to this truth. We have chosen to put Christ as Lord over our marriage and he has been faithful in growing us into a deeper more intimate place with him where grace and forgiveness abounds!
Our goal in the Marriage Ministry role at Generations is to have bible study classes and date nights where we can get together as couples and minister to one another with scripture and words of encouragement. We also look forward to planning retreats where we can get away and focus completely on our responsibilities as husbands and wives. To love, respect, and honor one another. Eph 5:22-33

LEADING PEOPLE INTO A LIFESTYLE OF WORSHIP!
Welcome to the Generations Music Ministries! This site has been designed as a resource for anyone seeking information about our worship ministries. As you look through this site, you will discover that there are many opportunities for involvement.
The purpose of the worship ministries at Generations is to lead the people of this church into a lifestyle of worship. We want to see people worship the Lord, not only on Sundays, but through the life that they lead the rest of the week. We want to create an atmosphere in every service that will draw people into the presence of the Lord, and allow Him to minister to their needs through His presence in their lives. Everything we do centers around that!
If you would like to become an active part of the music ministry, in any way, please feel free to contact us at any time! WE would love to get to know you and connect you to a ministry where you can be effective in building His kingdom! |

"Covenant Men" Men's Ministry |
" As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." [Proverbs 27:17]
Covenant Men, the Men's Ministry of Generations exists to enable the men of Generations to connect, serve, and reach out to the others. We provide social, outreach, discipleship, and service opportunities to meet the needs of this group as appropriate with the mission of Generations.
Our aim is to provide a welcoming atmosphere for men to bring their non-Christian friends as well as provide opportunities for discipleship and spiritual growth for believers. We also encourage men to get involved in Small Groups to build relationships, pray for and be accountable to one another.
Every other month, our Men's Ministry members get together for a men's breakfast and fellowship event. They are a group of men that have found how important accountability is to be the men God wants them to be for their family. The men's ministry is also actively involved in our church's Compassion Ministry, whether it's putting a roof on someone's house or extending a hand to help move to a new house.
