Watchmen
Isaiah 62:6 says this, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem. All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord take no rest for yourselves.”
There is no ministry more important to the life of Generations Church than our Intercessory prayer ministry. Intercession is a vital part of any work for God. Praying for one another and for the Kingdom of God is not a dread but a wonderful joy and privilege as children of God. Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light” [Matthew 11:30].
Everyone is called to intercede but not everyone is called an intercessor. Our intercessors pray without ceasing for the work we are called to do. As watchmen, God gives us the ability to labor in prayer, seeing into the unseen, and believing God to move powerfully on our behalf. Not because we demand, but because we believe His Word that says, "without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." [Hebrews 11:6]
Our prayer team meets several times each week. We meet Sunday mornings from 8:15 to 9:15 in the Sanctuary of the church to pray before the service as well as having intercessors pray during our service in what we call the "Boiler Room." We also meet every Friday night at 7pm at 40780 Mountain Pride Drive in Murrieta for corporate intercessory prayer. |
